Get the grades you want with these 5 study tips

It feels like the semester just started, doesn’t it? Yet midterms are right around the bend. That’s just proof that time flies. But don’t panic! These study tips will make your life way easier.

Although it may sound very attractive, at least under normal economic conditions, this method of working is not as simple as it may seem at first glance (or “hearing”). It comes “packaged” with some specific challenges, the management of which will require some effort on your part.

  1. Go Alpha University
Alpha University is very comprehensive digital study, and can help you get the grade you want. The content—covering a range of more than twenty subjects, including biology, business, math, and more—is created by subject-matter experts like PhDs and professors. Take practice quizzes, highlight the material, view animations and videos, and more!
  2. Don’t cram
Psychologists, and other brainy types, have been saying this for years. Cramming doesn’t help you learn material. It only helps you memorize it. That short-term memory is, at best, unreliable. Instead, study in shorter spurts over a longer period of time. Come test time, you’ll be glad you did.
  3. Get exercise
We promise this is not a waste of time! Exercise increases the flow of blood to the brain. That makes it easier to focus, remember, and even think critically. Another perk? If you’re feeling lethargic or depressed, exercise will release endorphins—the sweet endogenous opioid neuropeptides that combat depression and stress.
  4. Set a schedule
A schedule is an easy way to hold yourself accountable. It’s also the only way to make sure you’ll have enough time to do everything you need to get done. When creating a schedule, it’s important to remember a previous piece of advice on this list: don’t cram. That means don’t save your studying for one day per week. Spread it out!
  5. Treat yourself
Studying for hours on end without at least giving yourself a pat on the back is a bad idea. Search for ways to treat yourself for a job well done. Maybe take a ten-minute break every hour to read your favorite gossip magazine. Or splurge on a fancy coffee drink. Whatever it takes to keep up your motivation!
